Route Highlights – #4

The Millau Viaduct

Now for those of you who took part in the Jukebox Rally some years ago, you will have already driven over this amazing piece of engineering. Personally, I was on that rally however the “Turbo Taxi” gave up the ghost in Barcelona so we ended up flying home:(

The Millau Viaduct

Construction finished in 2004 and it was opened to the public in December of that year. It’s main purpose was to relieve traffic congestion along a section of road running along side the River Tarn and the village of Millau, this being the main route from Paris to Spain.

If you want to see some footage of the drive over the viaduct, then take a look at the Jukebox Rally video (from about 5min 20sec)
